Hello Washington Tigers!

 

My name is Elena Aleman McCollum. I am a native of Sherman and a second generation educator. I knew at an early age that I wanted to be a teacher because I was inspired by my late father, Abraham Aleman, when he brought home educational toys and would take me to talent shows and football games when I was a little girl.  Although, I took the long road with my first year of teaching at the age of 30. Within those years I taught 4th, 3rd, 2nd grades, ESL, and Special Ed. I currently teach second grade.

 

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, attending movies, plays, concerts, and festivals. My favorite things to do are to try new types of food and watch crime shows. I am the mother of two wonderful children along with the family Shih Tzu , Max, who thinks he is my child too.
